A driftwood coffee table for a “casually elegant” beach front home
Nikki & I recently were able to deliver several pieces of my work to Hobe Sound which is located directly on the Atlantic Ocean in Jupiter Beach, Florida. Lauren lives in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan where she owns A Touch of Lace, a very exclusive boutique that offers luxury fine linens & furnishings to homes around the world. She & her husband Phillip were building another residence on the waters edge & wanted one of my smaller oval driftwood coffee tables to be placed in one of the seating areas. The finishing touches were still being applied to the home, but the minute we pulled into the driveway, we knew that this was a home where one of my tables would look perfect. As we we were walking up to the front door, I immediately noticed the thing that got me started in the driftwood business many years ago….bromeliads (that’s a post for another time).
The inside of the home was very nicely furnished in a style Nikki called elegantly casual & my small oval driftwood coffee table was placed in a room with a great view of the Atlantic Ocean.
The other delivery was a large driftwood dining table & it was only a block away. I was commissioned to create that piece for a client of Wegman Design Group in Naples, but it was a full home install, so all I was able to do was leave the table for the designers to assimilate into the decor at a later date. I believe it was to go into a nook in the kitchen, so I’m anxious to see the final result.
