Englewood Art Festival
Our last art show of the season is also one of our favorites. It is put on by the Rotary & is comprised of just over a 100 artists. We always have the same 2 spaces on Dearborn St at the beginning of the show. It allows me to have my van & trailer nearby which comes in very handy for restocking & packing up on Sunday night.
One of the challenges of doing outdoor festivals is that we are at the mercy of the weather. Saturday started out overcast & people were there in droves. Unfortunately in the afternoon came the rain & lightning & the show was closed early. However we did sell sell one nice table to a couple who came to the show specifically to see us. This was a result of a long time artist friend who creates very unique gourd art. I save small pieces of wood that I trim from my furniture & give them to her (she calls them her gold treasure) when we know she’ll be at the same show. Her name is Bonnie Eastwood & she had been at another show several weeks ago & a customer had purchased several of her pieces that had some of my wood incorporated into it.

Happy to see the weather cooperated. One of these days we need to get back to Manasota Key. We get a dose of the gulf when we visit Jack in Panama City but it’s a different experience on the Panhandle versus the west Florida coast.
